GC-FID

Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detection (GC-FID) is a method used to separate and quantify components in a gas sample. It involves passing the sample through a column, where the different compounds separate based on their different properties.

As the compounds exit the column, they enter a detector where they are burned in a flame. This combustion produces ions, which are then measured to determine the amount of each compound present.
